Position Overview

Our Day Services program is community-based, meaning you will support individuals out in the community — participating in local activities, events, volunteer opportunities, and skill-building experiences throughout the Columbus area.

Schedule:
20 hours per week
Monday–Friday
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

As a DSP in Day Services, your role centers on dignity, relationships, and skill-building. You are not simply providing care — you are helping individuals experience independence, joy, and true community inclusion.

• Support individuals in community-based activities and local events

• Assist with development of communication, life, and social skills

• Foster independence through individualized goal-based support

• Provide respectful, positive behavioral supports

• Advocate for individual rights, choice, and inclusion

• Associate degree preferred (not required)

What You'll Do

• Impact Over Duties: Having a positive impact on the client, family, and community.

• Personalized Support: Provide and oversee person-centered assistance tailored to each individual’s needs.
• Lead with Passion: Supervise, train, and communicate with DSPs to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
• Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Monitor cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs while coordinating with landlords and external partners.
• Model Leadership and Professionalism: Promote dignity, respect, teamwork, and positive behavior support across the home.

What We're Looking For:

You will teach life skills from a person-centered plan. Life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and being safe in the community. We also love inclusion, so we practice family-style dining and outings that promote it. We help others reach their goals. We do this by going on community trips and building great relationships.
